Decorating my home for the holidays is an all day event. My husband is more of a get-it-done kind of guy, so as soon as Thanksgiving is over, he’s on a ladder hanging Christmas lights. My contribution is decorating the hanging flower box under the kitchen window and the built-in flower box near the front of the house, as well as, the front door. I created this little video to show the transformation that takes place.
The very first year in our home, we trimmed up some pine trees behind our house. I used the leftover branches in the boxes and they lasted through the new year. It was a really cheap and easy way to decorate. The following year I purchased the garlands at a local craft store, and those are what you see here. When choosing faux garlands, I look for realistic greenery that is life-like with added coloring and pinecones. I believe in quality over quantity in any faux flowers or plants, because you will be using them year after year.
I hope you enjoyed the video and please leave your comments below. I look forward to hearing from you!
